Rehearsal Schedules
The 2012 Rehearsal Schedule will be updated when Finalists are confirmed in July. For now please pencil the following dates on your calendar. For updates please subscribe to our e-mailing list.
18 August - Intermediate and Secondary categories
19 August - Secondary categories
25 August - Full Rehearsal for First Half of Show
26 August - Full Rehearsal for Second Half of Show
1 September - All Finalists categories (morning technical)
1 September - All categories (afternoon - full dress rehearsal to live audience)
What to expect:
Although we have asked you to book the whole day you will not be required on site for more than three hours in either a morning or afternoon session. During these sessions you will work in a group with models of the same category and a choreographer. The choreographer will help bring out the character of your garment and give you movements to remember. Because you are working in a group you cannot miss a rehearsal. Failure to attend any rehearsals will result in the garment being removed from the show.
25 & 26 August - First and Second Half
The show is created in two halves and these halves are determined by the creative directors once they have seen photos of the finalist garments. You will know which half you are in once the rehearsal schedule is confirmed in July. The rehearsals on the 25 & 26 are likely to be longest and is where you will timed by stage management. Plan a full day on site for these days.
Technical Rehearsal
Note: This has been moved from Friday night to Saturday morning. The technical rehearsal is the only rehearsal where you will have the chance to go on stage with all the sound and lighting without an audience. The technical rehearsal is really important because the lighting can change how the stage looks etc. Only those of you with difficult garments to wear (really big, difficult to see out of, hard to walk in etc) will have to be dressed in costume. Everyone else can wear mufty.
